First I drilled out the 1/8th" SS rivets on the inboard leading edge of both elevators.

Then remove drill shavings and burrs on the inside of the tube.

I then carefully drilled 1/8th" pilot holes to secure the two elevators.
(soon to be replace with 5/32 holes)

I then riveted SS 5/32 rivets in the original 1/8th" rivet holes. I repeated this on the bottom side of the elevators.

Now the two elevators are one.
I still have to drill out the 3/16th bolt holes for the control horns.
